Senatobia, Mississippi – Family members, friends, and community supporters gathered to honor the life of 1-year-old Kohen Kartier Wiley during an emotional funeral service, where loved ones celebrated his life with prayers, music, and heartfelt tributes while saying their final goodbye.
The service brought together relatives, neighbors, faith leaders, and supporters from across the region.
Flowers, balloons, pH๏τographs, and personal messages surrounded the ceremony as those in attendance remembered Kohen for the joy he brought to everyone who knew him.
Kohen’s mother, Vellesiya Wiley, has continued thanking the public for the overwhelming support shown to her family. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who represents the Wiley family, has also renewed calls for transparency as the investigation continues.
The incident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation. While community advocates and members of the Wiley family have publicly identified Officer Hunter Foster as the officer involved, state authorities have not officially confirmed the idenтιтy of the officer or released final investigative findings.
In the days leading up to the funeral, hundreds of supporters participated in peaceful marches and prayer gatherings throughout Senatobia, carrying signs, flowers, and blue balloons while expressing solidarity with the Wiley family and calling for answers.
