26‑Year‑Old Gabryel “Gabby” Ayres Fatally SH๏τ in Chicago Double Shooting — Baby in Car Unharmed, Police Say
A young Chicago woman has been identified as the victim in a brazen midday shooting that left her ᴅᴇᴀᴅ, another adult wounded, and a baby unharmed but traumatized, authorities said.

The shooting also wounded a 27‑year‑old man believed to have been driving the vehicle, and — miraculously — did not harm Ayres’s baby who was found alone in the back seat.
An Ambush During Broad Daylight
Chicago Police allege Ayres and the male victim were traveling together in a white vehicle when they were suddenly ambushed by a group of suspected shooters.

According to the CPD’s preliminary account, witnesses reported that a red SUV pulled up behind the victims’ car at or near the busy intersection.
Officers say four individuals exited the SUV and opened fire at the white car with rapid sH๏τs, targeting both occupants.
SH๏τs struck the car multiple times, and the victims attempted to flee the scene. In their effort to escape the barrage of bullets, the car drove forward at high speed and subsequently collided with another vehicle — a van — nearby.

The male victim sustained gunsH๏τ wounds to his ʙuттocks and arm in the attack but was listed in good condition at a local hospital, the police said. Investigators have not yet released his name, citing the ongoing nature of the inquiry and out of respect for family privacy.

Shocking surveillance footage and dramatic cellphone videos capturing the incident and its immediate aftermath have begun circulating on social media. Those videos show chaotic scenes of bullet‑pierced vehicles, shattered glᴀss, and bystanders fleeing the area as gunfire erupted. Some clips show the moment Ayres’s car crashes into the van, followed by panicked reactions from witnesses.
