Ariana Grande rekindles romance with ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez

Ariana Grande has reportedly rekindled her relationship with ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez following her split from Ethan Slater.
According to TMZ, the couple are officially back together, but are ‘taking things slow’ for the time being.
The pair have been spotted together in recent weeks, including at a Fourth of July celebration with Grande’s family.
‘They’re not jumping into anything serious right away, but Ari is happy to have him back in her life,’ a source told People.
‘He has such great, positive energy, makes her laugh, and she enjoys spending time with him,’ they added.
Grande seemed to confirm news of the reconciliation while performing her hit single ‘Thank U, Next’ during her Eternal Sunshine tour.

The original lyrics to the song, which are about the star’s ex-boyfriends, say, ‘Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.’
However, Grande changed the line during a recent Brooklyn concert to, ‘Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back.’
During an earlier show in Texas on June 26, Grande crooned, ‘Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he’s still got my back.’
The former couple originally met some time in 2015 when he worked as a backup dancer on her Honeymoon tour.
She confirmed their relationship the following year, but a few months later reports emerged stating that the pair had split after dating for roughly a year.
Daily Mail has contacted Grande’s representative for comment.
It comes after Grande and her ex-boyfriend Ethan Slater called it quits on their relationship after three years together.
Last month, a source told Daily Mail that the pair decided to go their separate ways after a significant amount of consideration and lengthy deliberation.

The source described the breakup – which happened earlier this year – as amicable, and stressed that the singer and her Wicked co-star are still friends.
Grande was said to be doing well in the wake of their breakup.
The Daily Mail’s source shared that the hitmaker has been focusing her energy on her ongoing Eternal Sunshine tour, which kicked off on June 6 in Oakland, California, and will wrap up on September 1 in London.
Notably, Slater wasn’t spotted at her opening weekend performances.
Grande has also been throwing herself into the recording of her upcoming studio album, Petal, which is set to be released on July 31.
The two originally started their romance after meeting during the filming of their blockbuster musical adaptation of Wicked, which was released in 2024, with its second half, Wicked: For Good, following in 2025.

Grande was one of the film’s two leads, playing Glinda, while Cynthia Erivo starred as the green-skinned outcast Elphaba.
Slater played a supporting role as Boq, a munchkin infatuated with Galinda who is later turned into the Tin Woodman.
Their romance was first reported in July 2023, just days after news broke of Grande’s buzzy separation from her husband, Dalton Gomez, though they were said to have split in January of that year.
Slater had also recently separated from his wife, the clinical psychologist Lilly Jay, with whom he welcomed a son in August 2022.
At the time, sources claimed that Grande and Slater didn’t start dating until both had separated from their spouses.
