Laura Woods supports fiancé Adam Collard as star’s dad goes on trial

Pregnant Laura Woods supported her fiancé Adam Collard at court today as his father’s trial for allegedly ᴀssaulting him was delayed by three months.

The TV presenter wore sunglᴀsses and held hands with the Love Island star as they walked out of Newcastle-upon-Tyne Magistrates’ Court together this afternoon.

Collard’s father William ‘Billy’ Collard, a multi-millionaire property developer, had expected to go on trial today after being charged with ᴀssault by beating.

But he was also seen leaving after the case was adjourned until November 27. The court did not sit today, with an usher saying the delay was due to a timing issue.

Earlier, Collard was pictured with Woods behind the wheel of a Land Rover Defender as they arrived at court this morning. Billy walked into the building separately.

Billy has been accused of grabbing his son, ripping his shirt and leaving him with reddening on his neck after they had an argument over the ownership of a cottage. 

The incident is said to have taken place during a confrontation on September 5 last year at 56-year-old Billy’s farm in the picturesque Northumberland village of Horsley.

The businessman pleaded not guilty to one count of ᴀssault by beating during a previous hearing at the court in April, which was only revealed last month.

Woods, who co-led ITV’s World Cup 2026 coverage, began dating Collard in October 2023. They became engaged in September 2024 when he proposed in Cornwall. 

Collard, 30, and Woods, 39, welcomed their first child Leo Ernie Collard in January 2025. They announced in May this year that they were expecting a second baby.

Collard, who is a fitness coach, appeared on Love Island season four in 2018 and season eight in 2022. He has also been on Celebs Go Dating and Celebrity SAS.

Woods has worked as a presenter for ITV, Talksport, Amazon Prime Video, DAZN and TNT Sports. She previously dated former England rugby player Alex Corbisiero.

The presenter, who suffered a devastating miscarriage at 11 weeks pregnant in 2024, led ITV’s World Cup coverage in the US with Mark Pougatch and Semra Hunter.

She posted a selfie from the France v Spain semi-final showing her bump, joking that the ‘baby doesn’t know how lucky they are’ after attending the match in Dallas.
