It certainly seems like the hiking and strength training is working out for Mindy Kaling as she looked slimmer than ever on her latest outing, however, some social media users have claimed she is on a GLP-1 weight loss drug.
The 47-year-old actress flaunted her thin frame after 40lb weight loss in a body contouring strapless dress while heading to an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in Hollywood on Monday.
Despite her previous insistence that it is portion control and exercise that led her on this weight loss journey path, many have accused the actress of using weight loss medications like Ozempic and Wegovy.
Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Kaling and has yet to hear back.
Just over a month ago, she appeared on The View where she addressed some of the comments she received about weight loss and many fans accused her of not being honest about her weight loss journey.
One user wrote: ‘Are you being truthful about your Ozempic use ?’

Another thoughtful commenter posted: ‘Mindy is an incredibly clever, influential and accomplished person so it really baffles me that she’s completely unaware of why her significant amount of weight loss is rubbing people the wrong way. Especially at a time when being skinny as a woman is trending and has always been politicised. I wish she had chosen to speak on this topic more critically and intelligently (something I really admire about Jameela Jamil).’

‘It’s actually non of our business! You look awesome [three hand clap emojis],’ a commenter wrote while another said: ‘someone said shes not honest??? who business is it about how she lost weight??? everyone looking to celebrities for advice and answers, please go talk to God and a nutritionist.’
Back in May 2023, she made headlines as she revealed to People how she lost 40lbs as she said: ‘I just tell myself I have to do basically 20 miles a week of either hiking or running. And so that’s been incredibly helpful to me.’
‘It’s hard with two kids [but] I wake up really early and I fit it in,’ Kaling said.
‘I’m feeling really confident in my body these days, which is not something that I’ve been able to say for my whole life, unfortunately,’ she said. ‘I feel great.’
Despite initial speculation that she might have embarked on a dramatic new diet, the mom-of-two insisted in April 2022 that she continues to ‘eat what I like to eat’ – but ‘less of it.’
‘Honestly, I didn’t really do anything differently,’ she told Entertainment Tonight. ‘I eat what I like to eat. If I do any kind of restrictive diet, it never really works for me. I just eat less of it.’

She continued: ‘I wish there was something more juicy or dynamic about the way that I’ve lost a little bit of weight, but that’s the way I’ve done it.’
Speaking with People last year, Kaling described herself as a workout ‘hobbyist’ who loves all types of different exercises ranging from tai chi to pilates and strength training.
‘I don’t have to be like the expert at the thing to really enjoy it and to get a great workout,’ she said.
‘Surprising the body with lots of different things I think is really good, particularly for my body … I’ve really been mixing it up and knowing that if a workout doesn’t necessarily make me soak my clothes with sweat, that it still was a good workout… It does not have to be punishing.’
Mindy has described how she incorporates working out into her busy schedule during an interview on Today: ‘Sometimes I’ll be like, ‘Well, I have four different times today where I have 10 minutes so let’s just walk instead of sitting down and checking Instagram.”‘
‘So instead of it being like one chunk of exercise in the beginning of the day or none at all, I’m now just deciding that I’m going to be a more active person all the time.’
Meanwhile back in May, Kaling opened up about her very personal reason for her extreme 40lb weight loss as she told Bustle magazine she came down by several dress sizes for health related reasons.
‘When I was younger, I would want to lose weight because of vanity reasons,’ explained The Office star as she showed off her thin frame in a black bra for the magazine.

‘Now I want to lose weight or have lost weight because I want to stave off things like diabetes,’ noted the performer.
The mom-of-three hopes to live ‘another 20 years’ by avoiding the disease, which runs on both sides of her family.
Kaling is mom to children, Katherine, eight, Spencer, five, and Anne, two. She has yet to name the father of the children, though many fans suspect the dad is her ex-boyfriend BJ Novak.
Diabetes has been a serious concern for her, especially since becoming a mother.
‘I had it on both sides of my family, and trying to avoid those kinds of things will, I think, help longevity for me, and that’s my goal,’ she explained.
