Carter County, Kentucky – Authorities have confirmed that 19-year-old Marly Kinney, of Ashland, Kentucky, was found following an extensive five-day search at Grayson Lake.

The discovery concluded a large multi-agency operation that brought together state and local law enforcement, emergency responders, divers, aviation units, K-9 teams, sonar specialists, drones, and dozens of community volunteers.

According to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Marly disappeared on June 24 while spending the day aboard a rented pontoon boat with a group of friends. Investigators said she did not return with the group, prompting an immediate search across the lake and surrounding shoreline.

Search crews worked continuously for several days despite challenging weather conditions, using specialized equipment to cover both the water and nearby terrain. More than 50 volunteers joined professional rescue teams in an effort that expanded across the Grayson Lake area.

Authorities also confirmed that 23-year-old Cameron Conley, the operator of the pontoon boat, was detained and charged with operating a boat while under the influence after investigators determined he had been operating the vessel while impaired.
