Shawn Mendes has hard launched his relationship with Brazilian model and actress. Bruna Marquezine. 

On Tuesday, the 27-year-old singer made their romance Instagram official as he shared a sweet tribute and penned a sentimental message to his girlfriend in celebration of her 31st birthday. 

The pair have been romantically linked since December of last year, when they were first rumored to be dating after being spotted spending time together in her home country of Brazil. 

In his caption, he wished her a happy birthday in Portuguese. ‘Feliz aniversário my baby,’ he wrote alongside emojis of an angel wing and a red heart.

He gushed about how Marquezine ‘changed his life’ before publicly declaring his love for her.

‘You are a light and a mãe in every room you walk into,’ he continued.

Discussing his track The Mountain, which includes the lyrics , ‘You can say I like girls or boys / Whatever fits your mold’, he told the crowd, ‘Since I was really young, there’s been this thing about my Sєxuality, and people have been talking about it for so long.’

‘I think it’s kind of silly, because I think Sєxuality is such a beautifully complex thing, and it’s so hard to just put into boxes.’

‘The real truth about my life and my Sєxuality is that, man, I’m just figuring it out like everyone. I don’t really know sometimes, and I know other times. And it feels really scary because we live in a society that has a lot to say about that.’

Mendes said that by speaking publicly about the speculation, he was making an effort ‘to be really brave’ and ‘just allow [himself] to be a human and feel things – and that’s all I really want to say about that for now.’
