A popular young woman who pá´ssionately campaigned for more suicide prevention support after her brotherâs death has been farewelled at an emotional funeral.
The heartbroken parents of Poppy Reynolds, 22, from Bundaberg in Queensland, remembered their daughter as a âdarling, golden-heart girlâ at the service on Friday following her death late last month.
Ms Reynoldsâ older brother, Harry Reynolds, lost his life in 2022, which had sparked her advocacy and fundraising work for mental health charities, while she continued her job as a civil plant operator.
Her mother, Natalie Vizer, told the packed service that her daughter had put others before herself for as long as she could remember and had wanted to make a positive difference in the world.
âOne day last week, her tough resilience just couldnât show up one more time,â she said in her eulogy, reported The Courier Mail.
She described her daughter as a typical upbeat and outgoing young woman, with a messy bedroom and a knack for masking her mental struggles.
âIt has left an unfillable hole in my heart,â she said.
Ms Reynoldsâ older sister, Grace, said Poppy had been a rock in recent years and would be incredibly missed.

A funeral service was held for Poppy Reynolds on Friday four years after her brother died which motivated her charity work
âShe is how I got through and Iâm sorry I couldnât do the same for her,â she said.
Her father, Bruce Reynolds, also spoke at the service, heart-wrenchingly telling his surviving three children they were ânot allowedâ to have another funeral.
Her younger sister, Euleilah, said Poppy had a wonderful sense of humour.
âWhatever room you stepped in, everyoneâs face lit up. I loved every minute of every day I spent with you,â she said.
Poppy had been particularly close with Harry.
Mourners wore yellow to match with the yellow poppy flowers in the chapel.
Instead of gifts on her 18th birthday, Poppy had asked friends to donate to her fundraising campaign for Suicide Prevention Australia.
âI just wanted you to know that I never stopped looking up to you (even when we fought non-stop),â she wrote of Harry on Instagram.

Poppyâs friend Jordan Warren shared a tribute online.
âHaving you by my side was one of the biggest blessings life could offer and to have you taken away from me so soon will be one of my biggest heartaches.
âI know youâre up there, most likely being the loudest, unapologetically of course.â
