Taylor Frankie Paul could rejoin Mormon Wives despite controversies

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives producers are hopeful a healthy Taylor Frankie Paul will return to their franchise, after her season of ABC’s The Bachelorette was canceled amid domestic violence controversies.
The show’s Jeff Jenkins, appearing Friday on a panel for ᴅᴇᴀᴅline’s Reality TV Summit, said that the 31-year-old reality star appeared to be focused on moving forward during a recent chat.
‘I talked to Taylor for 90 minutes this week, and she’s doing great – and very grounded and composed – I’m happy for her,’ said Jenkins.
Jenkins said that Paul’s physical and mental health was ‘first and foremost’ the concern of producers.
‘Is she healthy of body of mind?’ Jenkins said when asked if Paul will rejoin the cast. ‘Then we’ll talk about it.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Paul for comment but has yet to hear back.

News about Paul’s potential return comes as Whitney Leavitt, 32, revealed Sunday she was leaving the Hulu reality series following her performance in the Broadway musical Chicago.

Leavitt’s representative confirmed to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline that she was exiting the series, as she focuses on making a movie tentatively тιтled All for Love.
Leavitt, who’s also been seen on Dancing with the Stars, departs the show after having starred as Roxie Hart in the famed musical since February, amid stellar ticket sales.
The outlet noted that it was not immediately clear if Leavitt would be seen in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ fifth season.
Secret Lives producer Jenkins said he thought Paul was on the way back personally, after she had a successful outing in court Thursday amid her custody proceedings with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
‘If you saw the live feed from Judge [Russell] Minas’ courtroom yesterday, she was granted what she was seeking,’ Jenkins said at the event.
On Thursday, Paul was granted up to eight hours of ‘supervised’ visitation with her two-year-old son Ever, who she shares with Mortensen, 33, according to legal documents reviewed by the Daily Mail.
Thursday’s ‘hearing was a significant step forward as the court entered protective orders requiring that Taylor’s ex-partner stays far away from her,’ Paul’s attorney Eric M. Swinyard told the Daily Mail in a statement.

Paul’s Bachelorette season was scrapped in mid-March when a 2023 clip of her attacking her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, 33, with her minor daughter present was posted by TMZ
Paul’s attorney said she ‘was incredibly candid with the court that she is not perfect and owned her faults, which is in direct contrast to how the other party presented their argument, despite evidence and input from law enforcement that showed otherwise.’

Swinyard said Paul ‘feels solidarity with the many survivors who have endured similar hardships behind closed doors and shared only part of their stories.’
Paul ‘remains grateful for the outpouring of support she continues to receive,’ her lawyer said, adding that ‘she looks forward to continuing to cooperate with the court to make progress in the custody case.’
Paul’s Bachelorette season was scrapped in mid-March when a 2023 clip of her attacking her ex-boyfriend Mortensen with her minor daughter present was posted by TMZ.
The disturbing video led ABC to abruptly cancel Paul’s season just days before it was scheduled to premiere.
Disney Entertainment Television said at the time, ‘In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.’
Paul is mother to three children: daughter Indy, eight, and son Ocean, five, with ex-husband Tate Paul; and son Ever, two, with ex-boyfriend Mortensen.
Body camera footage pulled from Paul’s 2023 arrest showed Mortensen trying to persuade police to take him to jail instead of her.

In the clip, which was published March 23 by TMZ, Paul and Mortensen were bickering as police knocked on the front door.
Police separated the two as an aggressive Paul tried to pour herself a water and began crying. Mortensen told responding officers that Paul was ‘not doing OK’ while giving them a glimpse into the violence he alleged he suffered at her hands.
‘I can’t even tell you the stuff that’s happened to me,’ Mortensen said, showing off injuries he claimed came from Paul.
At that point, Paul re-emerged, and told Mortensen to leave immediately. After Paul was arrested, Mortensen asked police officers if he could go to jail instead of her, saying that he just wanted her ‘to get help.’
Paul in August of 2023 entered a plea of guilty to aggravated ᴀssault in connection with the February 2023 incident. Four other charges were dropped as part of the deal, and probation she’s been on since then is slated to conclude in August of 2026.
