“Aliens or some mysterious civilization with a level of advancement far beyond humankind created these mysterious crop circles.”
Have you ever witnessed a colossal masterpiece stretching across an endless field, as far as the eye can see?

Take this image, for example?
If you’ve ever seen or heard about it, would you believe that these “perfectly detailed” crop circles were created in just one night?
It’s hard to believe, isn’t it? And it’s a great mystery that humanity is still trying to solve.
This article will help you uncover some of the “dark areas” surrounding these mysterious crop circles. What are they? What is their history? How are they created? And who are the creators?
What are crop circles?
Crop circles are circular patterns in fields. They are enormous designs, spanning hundreds of meters, creating a colossal yet remarkably perfect work of art.

These giant “pictures” are created by fallen tree trunks, often arranged in a swirling pattern in the same direction (either clockwise or counterclockwise).
Viewed from above, you can easily see the contrasting colors, the sharp, precise lines, and the incredible symmetry.

Although the plant stems are crushed and bent, they remain unaffected and continue to grow and develop normally.
These circles are not “picky” about the land they “set foot” on; they appear in any field: wheat, corn, rice, oats… even weeds, as long as it is flat land.
The “harvest season” for these circles is from April to September each year (coinciding with the food harvest).
Remarkably, they form very quickly, overnight, perhaps to avoid the curious eyes of the locals.
When did Crop Circles appear?
It is known that these circles have appeared scattered in many areas over the centuries. According to records, this phenomenon was first discovered around the 14th century.

At the time, the locals, witnessing this strange phenomenon for the first time, believed it to be a symbol of evil and were extremely frightened.
But it wasn’t until the 1980s, when a resident of Wiltshire, England, discovered three large circles, each about 18 meters wide, in his oat field, that people began to take notice of its unusual existence.
The press reported extensively on it, and scientists quickly flocked to the area to conduct research.

By the 1990s, crop circles were appearing in increasing numbers, and tourists from all over the world flocked to visit and learn about this fascinating phenomenon.
According to reports, in 1990 alone, there were over 500 circles in Europe. In the following years, this number rose to thousands.
These circles appeared mainly in southern England, especially in Hampshire and Wiltshire, and a few at Avebury and Stonehenge, where many mysterious stone structures are located. They are also scattered across the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, India, and other countries.
What do crop circles look like?
According to detailed descriptions, the first crop circles discovered were simply circular shapes, ranging in size from a few centimeters to several hundred meters.

But as time went on, they became more complex; they were no longer just single circles or a few other circles, but appeared in many different intricate shapes.
These shapes sometimes resembled a mysterious labyrinth, sometimes the image of some kind of insect, or symbols of ancient civilizations, or even forms of writing unknown to mankind.

Some believe they are some kind of mysterious message sent to humankind, but we have yet to decipher them.
Gerald S. Hawkins, an astronomer and former professor at Boston University, has directly studied these mysterious circles. He discovered that many crop circles have structures that strictly adhere to mathematical principles.
The professor stated that the positions of the shapes within these giant formations are based on relationships between specific numbers.
Some crop circles have an outer circle and an inner circle, where the area of the outer circle is always four times that of the inner circle.

The precise placement of these circles demonstrates that the “creators” possessed a deep understanding of Euclidean plane geometry, as described by the mathematician Euclid of Alexandria, according to Professor Hawkins.
Who were the creators of these mysterious circles?
This has likely remained a mystery to scientists for centuries.
Some believe the patterns were man-made to attract the attention of the world and scientists.

Scientist John Rand Capron described a strange phenomenon near Guildford, Surrey, England, in 1880 in the journal Nature.
He described it as follows: “The entire wheat field suddenly collapsed, but not entirely, forming a shape that, when viewed from a distance, consisted of many mysterious circles…
I had never seen anything like this before, nor did I know who made it… If not man, it was most likely created by swirling winds…”
Some people have claimed responsibility for these creations. However, upon examining the “fake” circles, scientists found many traces of human intervention, not as perfect as the crop circles themselves.
Researchers say that, upon examination, the “real” crop circles show no signs of damage or trampling. They appear not to have been created by humans or machines, but rather influenced by an extremely powerful, invisible energy.

Incredibly, even those who claim to have “man-made” the crop circles cannot describe or explain how these intricately patterned symbols were created.
This has led to various speculations about the origin of these mysterious circles.
The first hypothesis is that they are the result of swirling winds, a phenomenon common in southern England. However, this was quickly refuted by scientists who argued that swirling winds could not create geometric patterns with such centimeter-level precision.
The second hypothesis, when measuring the magnetic field within the circles, revealed a very strong force, leading scientists to conclude that it was due to electromagnetic radiation energy emanating from within the Earth.
But this hypothesis is also unconvincing, because whether accidental or intentional, natural energy cannot create such imaginative images as insects or smiley faces.
American researcher William Levengood added a third hypothesis when he discovered that the damage to plants in areas where crop circles appeared was similar to what happens when they are placed in a microwave oven.
It seems they collapsed due to the sudden internal heating, much like the energy in a microwave oven.

And perhaps the most convincing final hypothesis comes from UFO researchers. They believe it’s the work of extraterrestrial beings or a message from some mysterious civilization to humankind.
As evidence, in 2001, two Dutch farmers claimed they witnessed white “columns” of light shining on their bean field. A crop circle then appeared in the spot where the light shone.

These mysterious circles remain a mystery to scientists.
